about
Soup for the Soul began with a simple Facebook post. One evening, our President, Mrs. Debbie Smith, posted on Facebook,"I think we should have a soup kitchen in Murray. Who's in?" By the next morning, over 200 people had stepped up to volunteer. This was something that Debbie just couldn't ignore. Debbie began work to assemble a Board of Directors and obtain 501c3 non-profit status. After month of planning and fundraising, Soup for the Soul opened on June 1, 2015. During the first week open, the kitchen served approximately 40-50 people per day. We now feed over 100 people on some nights.

Soup for the Soul serves a hot, delicious meal Monday through Friday from 4:00 - 5:30 pm. The kitchen relies completely on donations of food and money from private citizens, churches, and businesses to operate. It also utilizes food donated by local restaurants, grocery stores, and individuals. We receive no government assistance.

Our volunteers are the backbone of our ministry! Every afternoon, a team of volunteers assembles to prepare, cook, serve and clean up. Soup for the Soul could not operate without these dedicated volunteer teams who donate their time once per month!

Soup for the Soul is located at 411 Maple Street in Murray, Kentucky. ALL ARE WELCOME to come and eat!
